Coming out of the closet….

As some of you know and well some are about to learn..the focus for my clothing line that is soon to appear(YEAHH!) is mens clothing….although I will be doing women’s clothing as well…Men are the target market that I enjoy working with the most.. Whether it’s dressing them, and giving the fashion advice or designing the next item that will appear in their closet..I have found that I enjoy working with men the most… 

Men go about shopping very differently than women…women go for what they want..and most men go for what they need. Whether is is a floss suit..or a tie…. when a man realizes that he needs to step his game up.. I am noticing a little help goes a long way…

Coming out of the closet……

The first transition that guys make is the from high school to college…some make a change quickly and other find their niche while they’re in school… then they graduate..and if you haven’t already made a change… it is time… I have seen guys go from baggy jeans to skinny’s in months..lol..or from oversized shirts and clothes to fitted in days..lol..

 

Hey, it can happen.. ..and if you know what you are doing it can look great..

Ties are a great investment..and suits.. every man getting ready to leave college for the real world needs to step their game up…whether your career will entail a suit or not.. You are entering a different DeisignBracket..lol..you need to be able to compete..and I don’t mean brains… i mean look. Believe me, a women who has her life together or working toward a successful life..wants a man that can compete on her level both mentally and fashionably.  If a women is nervous that you areNOT going to be dressed appropriatly when going to dinner or a specific event..then you need to go back in your closet and come out looking and thinking a different way about fashion…

No it’s not all about your “fashion” appearance BUT… ..wait im lying..yes Fashion is a big deal..lol…looking good is essential….. lol

Well the store opening was a success. I was very happy with the turn out, unexpected. I really see this store taking off. It has a different feel and flare than any store that is in the Williamsburg area….so I can’t wait to see what the future has in store..lol no pun intended lol.  If you are looking for a new look a more high-end imaged then Kyrie Designs is where you need to look..and of course ask for me..book an appointment and I will style you head to toe .

Okay so enough of the plug for the store…. You will hear much much more about that in the weeks to come.. lets get to clothes…. So as usual I have been doing a lot of observation and this week I think the most important think I can talk to you about is the importance of an IRON. Yes and IRON. If some of you are staring at this word as if it is foreign then this column is for you.  If you wake up in the morning and the clothes that you want to wear have creases and look like you just pulled them from under a box or straight of your trunk..then you need to plug in your iron and use it..or make an investment in a new tool for you house….an Iron.

 

Some wrinkles are acceptable…because of the fabrics the clothes fall a certain way…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So in conclusion…..if you have to question if you look okay…TAKE OUT THE IRON!!.. it is not cute to have a wrinkled polo or button up shirt fellas…it can cause you to loose your Floss license..lol

Okay so enough of that….. HELLO it’s Super HOTTTT outside…what are you wearing? It’s prefect for linen and bright colors..but don’t over due it…and ladies please wear the proper underwear under white.. There is nothing worse that seeing colored underwear especially a thong through white pants or a dress…and if all else fails go without, that way you know you won’t have any panty lines..they aren’t cute…

FELLAS….can we think of another fashion trend other than the white tee? I am sure there are alternatives…oh how about a graphic tee?..or a linen polo shirt? Okay that may be over the top for a few of you..but if you haven’t tried wearing one..then you can talk about it.. when worn correctly ..you will look super sexy !!..and as I noted above..if you don’t know how to dress yourself … I know a great stylist who can help (wink wink )…

The summer doesn’t have to be about wearing many pieces of clothing… ladies can wear a great dress or skirt with a great top and be uber chic…Fellas a great shirt goes a long way….or a great pair of shorts…. step out of your box..try something different…don’t let the outfit wear you..

Back from VaCaY!!!!

I know you may be wondering ” Where have you been?” well i took a little vacay ..did some thinking.. did some research and I’m back!! I won’t leave you that long again.. don’t worry..lol.

So whats new? Well other than everything, right? Well one thing that is new is the season it is definitly SPRING!! So, glad the weather has finally changed..or has it? Some days it seems like we are stuck in winter..but definitly not. It is time to bring out the colors and all of them. We are seeing all the colors this spring.and BRIGHT ones..no need to hide behind dark colors and black ..strut your stuff and show your personality with the color wheel. This goes for both ladies and gents.

Well keep your eyes out because my clothing line is still in the making..it is on the horizon!! Im uber excited…. so stay tunned…check it out !!

Hue are you ?

It’s no secret that everyone has certain colors that look better on them than others. Now, I am not saying that you can’t wear whatever color you want, it is just that the “right” color will bring out your best attributues and enhance your over all look. SO  what hue are you?

   

I ‘m an Autumn, colors like brown, golden yellow,  orange, olive green and tans work best for me.  I don’t always where these colors, but when I want to stand out alittle more…I know exactly which hue to do.lol..okay that was kinda corny.  I would consider myself to be a very observant person, and lately I have noticed  that ALOT of people think they look good in ANNY color. 

 HINT !! If you look in the mirror and you can barley tell the color of the shirt, dress or skirt from your own complexion…chances are it’s not working for you !! CHANGE CLOTHES. 

Sanaa you look great!... but.. Golden..."oh HELLA NO!"

 

Now, If you add a few colorful accesories, like scarfs or a tie or a sweater then it might work.  But, the key is to know HUE YOU ARE !! and let the colors work for you.

Life’s Cold Shoulder

“Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”…. okay so I know I am not the only one is is freeeezing these days. I can’t remember the last time I was this cold!! But in weather like this.. you can be creative with your outfit! LAYER!! LAYER!! LAYER!! So what if your close don’t match..they don’t have too!! who ever said that you purple can’t go with blue, or brown doesn’t go with red and navy, or whatever the colors maybe. It can work, as long as it is your style ..do it well!! Don’t let trend always predict what you are wearing. We are individuals remember that !!.. we have our personalities.

Okay so this is just random..but… have you ever woken up in the morning and didn’t like any outfit you were trying on ? I do it ALL the time !! and like the other day for example. I know that I have a closet full of clothes ..but i get in moods where I want to where something in particular that I just can’t find in my closet!!! It really does drive me crazy.. I go through like 5 outfits and nothing works…then I venture to my sisters closet and nothing works….and eventually i will just throw something on and go with it. SO.. the other day this was the exact senerio ….I was so frustrated because I had already decided the night before what I was going to where..but then when I woke up I didn’t feel like wearing it anymore..!!! so after changing clothes 6 times, you won’t believe what I ended up wearing… YEP the outfit i started with..lol. I add a few new accessories and jazzy handbag and it worked!!!.. ….So sorry to bore you with that story but I just wanted to share ….i know I can’t be the only one that goes through this from time to time

So, just make your style your own.. and the winter time is a great time to show personality ..and add spice…add a new leather jacket with a flashy hoodie and random scarf… with flossy shoes..and you’re set!!… MAKE A STATEMENT!!
